Minneapolis is famous for the worlds largest continuously connected overhead skyway system. This photo safari takes us downtown from the Mall of America via the Hiawatha Light Rail. Your guides show you the most interesting areas of both the light rail and a selected section of the skyways. |
We begin with a short "basic photography" presentation in the MOA LRT station. During our journey, the safari "hands on" session will cover the basics of shooting lower light scenes without a flash, as well as one on one basic camera settings and composition tips and hints.
On the 90 minute Hiawatha light rail ride, we will stop at selected stations and take in the photo ops. While we ride and photograph the rails, your guides will share fascinating history of Light Rail Systems in the twin cities, as well as what is in store for the future of light rail in the Minneapolis/St Paul metropolitan area and beyond. Upon Arrival downtown, we take a short break, then enter a selected portion of the Minneapolis skyway system, the largest skyway system in the world, to practice lower light and abstract photography in this unique "above the streets" world. Even in the worst of winter weather, we will tour in comfort. While we walk, your guides share history and facts about the buildings and areas we are traveling through. This tour begins at 10:00 AM. The train ride with stops is about 90 minutes, we spend about 2 hours including the break in the skyway system.
